MARTIAL ARTS EXPERIENCE
Sensei Hill started his martial arts training in Fredericksburg, Va. during the mid 1980s in Shorinji Torakendo Kempo and Jujitsu under the American Kempo Karate Association (AKKA). Sensei Hill received his first black belt in Jujitsu from Master Charles B. Stanley in February 1988. In 1989 Sensei Hill joined the US Army, while on active duty for 20 years he studied several different styles under several different instructors. After a period of continuous study and training under Master Kevin Leonard, Ryu Kyu Kempo Jitsu, Sensei Hill attained his second degree black belt in Ryu Kyu Kempo Jitsu at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska in August of 1993.
Upon leaving Alaska and over the next seven years Sensei Hill continued training and teaching Jujitsu and Kempo karate while assigned to duty in Georgia, Arizona and Texas. In the summer of 2000 while on assignment to Ft. Huachuca, Az. Sensei Hill met Shihan Jeff Hyder and Grand Master Joseph Barnes and was subsequently accepted as a student under both at the American Okinawan Karate Academy in Sierra Vista, Arizona. While studying under Shihan Hyder and Grand Master Barnes he was introduced to and diligently studied Isshinryu Karate, Isshin-Shorin-Go Ryu, and Tai Shin Ki Do (The Way of the Body, Mind, and Spirit). Sensei Hill continues to study, teach, and practice under the tutelage of Shihan Jeff Hyder and Grand Master Barnes.
In August 2009 upon retiring from the US Army Sensei Hill opens AOKA Central Texas, servicing Killeen, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, Nolanville, Belton and Temple
Sensei Hill is currently a member of the International Black Belt Association (IBBA), the American Okinawan Karate Academies and the National Isshin-Shorin-Go Ryu Karate Association (NIKA).
